Every week we pose a question for YOU, the fans of Legendary Games, something short, sweet, and to the point. And since we like a little alliteration, I think the Worm that Walks will wear the crown as the WEDNESDAY WHAT? mascot! In honor of the late, lamented Dave Trampier, we shall call him… Wormy!
Fantasy worlds are as old as storytelling itself, and while the early days of RPGs assumed most people played in a homebrew world, published settings have been around since Glorantha and Greyhawk on down to Golarion and more. Some worlds are defined by their overarching theme, like the blasted wastes of Athas or the technofantasy of Blackmoor, but every world is also defined by the nations that comprise it. Whether nations devoted to good or evil, magic or mercantilism, or its association with a specific ruler or event. Looking back at all the great fantasy worlds, what makes a great fantasy nation? Is it great because of its theming and description, or because it’s a great setting for adventure? Greyhawk or Glantri? Karamiekos or Kara-Tur? Cormyr or Cheliax? Khorvaire or Aniure? So many to choose from!
This week’s WORMY’S WEDNESDAY WHAT?
What is your favorite fantasy country and why?
