Pirates for Everyone – and so much more!

The last few weeks have been abuzz with activity, getting books out the door and shipping literally HUNDREDS of copies of the Pirate Campaign Compendium for Pathfinder and the Forest Kingdom Campaign Compendium for both Pathfinder and 5th Edition out to our backers, along with tons of bonus books they pledged for. In fact, we’ve been so busy that we’ve sent out ALL of our backer and preorder copies of the Pirate Campaign Compendium (Pathfinder) and that means… YO HO, YO HO A PIRATE’S LIFE FOR EVERYBODY! Even if you missed the amazing nautical Kickstarter this spring, you can now get your very own 500-page print copy or print/PDF bundle at the Legendary Games webstore, Open Gaming Store, Paizoand DrivethruRPG

Fulfillment on the Forest Kingdom Campaign Compendium is rolling merrily along as well, and once we’ve got all of our backer books out the door those books will likewise be available to everyone in the general public, hopefully before the end of June. We’ll definitely have copies of both books in time for GenCon!

Speaking of Kickstarters, the Fates of Madness Card Game Kickstarter is over halfway to its funding goal in just the first week! We are excited to see how far this game will go as we begin building a new audience for this new product line from Legendary Games and our partner on this project, Mythica Games. The team is traveling to numerous cons throughout the summer in support of the game, which they’ve been demo-ing and playtesting for months now, and we’re excited to have the project nearing completion where we’ll be ready to make it happen. Check out the Kickstarter right here, and the first update for a gameplay video!

Last but not least, we wanted to throw out a quick preview for Legendary Barbarians, the latest new class book for Pathfinder from Jeff Gomez, Jason Nelson, and N. Jolly! What will you find between these pages?

Legendary Barbarians is the latest volume in our series of class-focused player supplements, this time focusing on the fearsome barbarians! This core class has long been a staple of fantasy settings, representing both the power of anger and the rejection of civilization. Legendary Barbarians enhances these ideas with a streamlined redesign of the class that provides flexibility, flavor, and ferocity in a class that can tear your enemies apart! With Legendary Barbarians, the barbarian is able to choose the benefits of her rage, opening the class up to a limitless variety of concepts. Enlarging rage increases the barbarian’s size (Hulk Smash), while invincible rage lets her shrug off attacks with ease. Bestial rage transforms the barbarian to an animal and vicious rage sacrifices her hit points for greater damage. Dozens of alternate class features allow a piece-by-piece construction of your perfect barbarian, while 11 new archetypes (such as the mutagenic rager, slavering nightmare, and righteous berserker) tie your abilities together in a theme. The savage archetype trades out rage for a more stoic approach. The fury cannot stop raging. All this, plus new feats (like Wield Halfling), items, brands, and more!

The book is getting its final development pass this weekend and then it’s off to the layout queue to get ready for YOU! Get ready… THERE WILL BE BLOOD!

If your voyages are more nautical than astronomical, however, any fantasy campaign can be enriched by this Monday’s release of Ultimate Ships (5E)! This book, the latest installment in our amazing Ultimate line, is devoted to all things nautical, from shipboard combat to full-on fleet battles, with simple and advanced rules options for ship-to-ship combat, integrating magic and sea battles, and so much more! You’ll find detailed options for ships large and small from ancient times to the Age of Sail, with naval siege weapons from cannons to catapults, ballistas to firedrakes, as well as special ship modifications like concealed weapon ports, silk sails, and smuggling compartments. Finally, off to layout today this week is Path of the Bound, the latest mythic path for Pathfinder to join up with past favorites like Path of the Stranger, Path of the Genius, and Path of the Reluctant Hero! We’ll have more previews for this book soon, but what is this new path to immortal power all about?

Some heroes are born, others are made, but some make a fateful choice that changes everything. Path of the Bound is designed to create characters who achieve immortality and legendary status by selling their soul, mortgaging their future, and giving themselves over to eldritch entities in exchange for power. Some have altruistic motivations, seeking the power to protect others, though often to the extremes in trying to cleanse the world from vice and sin. Others are more like victims of circumstance, the lonely survivors of an ancient curse that has left them lingering in a world no longer their own as the centuries have passed them by or born with mind and spirit already bound to the thoughts and senses of others in a mental network that spans the globe. Some are anointed to serve the realms beyond, taking the mantle willingly Those granting power may anoint others with glory or may seduce them into service, or bully or befuddle them into accepting far more than they bargained for. It is dangerous to deal with the devil, but even kinder spirits have their own designs for your immortal soul and your service. Path of the Bound does not stop with the paths of power from the immortal world to you, however, but also presents rules for becoming a mythic patron yourself, and binding others into your service in exchange for the power that you can provide! A bound character is part of the web of souls, becoming one with the infinite, inextricably tied up within it. Is the power worth the price? Just sign the contract and find out!

A Spectacularly Sinister 5E Friday, plus previews!

Today marks the diabolical debut of the biggest 5E book we have ever released, the massive and malevolent Book of Exalted Darkness (5E)! This titanic tome of terror is 414 perfidious pages of class options, spells, magic items, archetypes, adventures, technological gear, ready-to-use villainous masterminds, and so much more, all set in a spectacular setting of gleaming golden decopunk glory with a beating heart of ineffable darkness. This is the definitive treatise on dastardly damnation for 5E, courtesy of Mike Myler, Savannah Broadway, James Introcaso, Luis Loza, and Michael McCarthy, and you can get it today in PDF or print at the Legendary Games webstore, Open Gaming Store, Paizoand DrivethruRPG!

The horror continues next week for the Pathfinder Roleplaying Game with the release of the creepy cosmic horror adventure Whisper House by Tom Phillips, so how about a quick preview for that as well!

Traveling through eerie and ancient wooded riverlands, a foraging party is long overdue in the gloaming dusk. The hunters from a backwoods village of degenerate and inbred woodfolk are surely bloodthirsty enough for an ambush, but can your allies be found bound in their hovels, or is a more sinister happening afoot? The shadow of witchcraft stained with the essence of malevolence from beyond time and space draws the heroes to the ragged hilltop manor, where the corrupted scions of a once-noble bloodline strain the veil between this world and the realms of pure madness beyond. What is left of their clan, and of the friends who may have been spirited away to Whisper House? Check out this terrifying Pathfinder Roleplaying Game adventure for 8th-level characters today and Make Your Game Legendary!

Big News in Sci-Fi Land!

Mark Hamill got his star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame! Hey, that’s big news! Of course, we were more talking about sci-fi products in Legendary land, and boy do we have them! Last year’s smash hit, the Aethera Campaign Settinghas just gotten an epic review from the eminent Endzeitgeist, who proclaims it candidate for his Top Ten Products of the Year! You can check out his full review right here, but in sum he says:

The value of this book lies in its surprisingly holistic, concise and sensible world-building, in its phenomenal concepts – whether as a campaign setting or as a grab-bag of ideas, Aethera is a truly remarkable achievement that makes for a surprisingly captivating reading experience, that has a very strong identity in spite of its inclusive stance. In short: It achieves its goal as a campaign setting in a fantastic manner, with panache aplomb. My final verdict will clock in at 5 stars + seal of approval, as well as status as a candidate for my Top Ten of 2017.

We also are nearing completion on the first volumes in our Alien Bestiary series, including the Alien Codex and Aethera Field GuideThe first in the series, the Alien Bestiary Companionshould be ready to begin layout next week, with additional volumes to follow until all three books are available for Pathfinder, Starfinder, and 5th Edition!
